Charlotte Disc Golf Courses
Mecklenburg County located in North Carolina has quite a few disc golf courses to experience and
see. Disc golf is a sport that is growing and can be played for free at most government parks. The only cost you
really have for playing disc golf is the cost of your Frisbees. Playing disc golf requires you to walk the
courses there’s no riding a cart like traditional golf.
Here are some disc golf courses in Mecklenburg County:
Elon Park
This is a new disc golf course in Mecklenburg County and is located at 11401 Audrey Kell Road. It’s designed for
beginner or intermediate play and features 18 holes. Course not crowded during the week if you’re looking to play.
Elon Park is located in the South Park District.
Hornets Nest Park
This disc golf course is designed for professional and advanced level of players. Hornet’s Nest disc golf course
features a par 58 course. A new layout called “Charlotte’s Web” added in 2006 added a new par 69 to the course and
features some nice challenging holes to play. Hornet’s Nest Park is located at 6301 Beatties Ford Road. Hornet’s
Nest Park is located in the North Park District.
Kilborne Park
This disc golf course was designed in 1993 and received an upgrade in 2006. Course is for beginner, intermediate
and advanced level players. Kilborne Park disc golf course is 18 holes that are a par 55 on the short baskets and
par 60 on the long baskets. Course if fairly open for the most part allowing you to zip the Frisbees through the
air. Disc golf course located at 2600 Kilborne Drive and is part of the East Park District.
Reedy Creek Park
This is Mecklenburg County’s oldest disc golf course and is designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced level
play. This course is consists of a lot of woods and tight shots. This park is also located in the East Park
District. This disc golf course features a par 54. Reedy Creek Park is located at 2900 Rocky River Road.
Renaissance Park
This disc golf course is deemed the most challenging course in the area and features a par 58 on the original
layout and a par 70 on the gold layout. Renaissance Park is part of the Southwest Park District and located at 1200
West Tyvola Road. Designed for advanced or professional level players with a lot of uphill and downhill shots.
Sugaw Creek Park
This disc golf course is a par 54 and features 18 holes. Sugaw Creek disc golf course is located at 943 W. Sugaw
Creek Road. Designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced level players because the course features tight holes
and a lot of woods.
Veteran’s Park This disc golf course is the only 9-hole course in the area.
Veteran’s Park is located at 2136 Central Avenue. Designed for beginner’s and intermediate players and is a par 27
course with some nice scenery as you maneuver the course.
All the disc golf courses are free to play in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina; however, there
are tournaments that are played during the year where there’s an entry fee to participate. .
